"Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it." I Cor 12:27
"Peacemaking can no longer be regarded as peripheral to being a Christian. It is not something like joining the parish choir. Nobody can be Christian without being a peacemaker." Henri Nouwen
Both of these quotations emphasise the importance of being connected in the Body of Christ. We do not function outside a community of believers.
Have you ever thought that nobody can be a Christian without being a peacemaker? We would love to see more Christians understand this concept and equip them through our training programmes to become Peacemakers. That is our vision.
Are you willing to support us in this role? I want to encourage visitors to our web site to consider how you can support this ministry and come on board with us. You can be involved by promoting peacemaking seminars in your church, offering your time and expertise, donating funds or equipment. Another way to show your support is through membership.
Our membership fees have been radically reduced in an effort to attract new members. They range from a fee of $50 for unwaged and superannuitants to $300 for an organisation with a turnover exceeding $200,000.
Membership shows a tangible support to the vision and ministry of bringing reconciliation in the Body of Christ. Much of the work we do in terms of conflict coaching, sending out information and assisting people to resolve conflict without turning to legal channels is not charged. Your support will help us continue this work.
Being a member will also give you voting rights and the ability to stand or nominate a representative to the Board and have a direct say in the administration of Resolve.
Sometimes when we apply for grants and in making representation to other bodies people want to know how many members we have. We obtain greater credibility with more members. If we are an organisation with say more than 1000 members then our message has greater impact in the community than if we had only 20 people.
Can you assist us by joining Resolve and encouraging at least one or two others to also join?
Donations can be posted to Resolve at PO Box 180-168, Luckens Point, Auckland 0663.
